New connections will be critical to achieving decarbonisation and enabling a whole-system approach. To be an enabler of net zero we'll need to deliver cost-effective and timely connections and support the uptake of low carbon technologies and renewable generation. 

To achieve this, we'll need to continue to improve our connections processes, developing them together with our customers and stakeholders. We'll also be offering more flexible and curtailable solutions, to help our customers get connected more quickly.

Flexibility can help our customers and communities to decarbonise, without the need for costly and time consuming network reinforcement. Flexibility services contracts is one way we can do this, where we'll contract with flexibility service providers who can increase or decrease their energy consumption and/or generation to help balance the load on our network.
