INCENTIVE ON CONNECTIONS ENGAGEMENT (ICE)
The Incentive on Connections Engagement (ICE) encourages network operators to deliver continuously high levels of service to major works connections customers.
ICE gives our connections customers and key stakeholders the opportunity to contribute to our annual service improvement plans. Each year, we publish a detailed work plan of service improvement commitments. Our work plans are developed together with connections stakeholders and all our service improvement actions are derived from our their suggestions and feedback.
We work hard to understand the needs of our connections customers and to continually improve the service we provide. We encourage you to tell us what we do well and what we could be doing better. It is only through ongoing dialogue we can ensure we are fully meeting your expectations. In the first instance, please send any feedback to [email protected].

We've published our final ICE submission which looks back on the connections service improvement actions we have delivered under the incentive.
You can read our 2023/24 ICE submission here.

You can use our online work plan to look back on all the actions and outcomes we have delivered under ICE.

Generators told us that early visibility on the likely impact of transmission issues was key when considering a connection to our network. We responded by publishing information on transmission constraints and Mod Apps as part of the detailed datasheets that accompany our heat maps.

We've modelled what future energy growth and demand looks like across our region with our Distributed Future Energy Scenarios (DFES) and we're encouraging stakeholders and customers to tell us if our forecasts match your plans.

We're offering dedicated connections surgeries for local authority officers and large-scale housing and commercial developers, this action is in response to feedback from these stakeholders that they would benefit from pre-application advice on how to integrate generation and LCTs into their plans.
