Northern Powergrid's response to the National Infrastructure Commission Report

Phil Jones, CEO and President said, “We agree with the Commission that we need to act now and stay ahead of the curve – and that investment in regional power grids is key to delivering cheaper, cleaner more secure energy, as well as creating economic growth. I think the National Infrastructure Commission report will prove to be an important and valuable contribution to the development of national policy.
“The report highlights the importance of making sure distribution networks can keep pace with rising demand, and points to some important changes to the regulatory framework to make sure that we can deliver networks that are fit for net zero. We look forward to continuing to work with NIC, Ofgem, Government and the rest of the industry to deliver the recommendations.”
