The strong winds forecasted in the Met Office’s weather warnings have started to impact in North Yorkshire and the North East, and we’re starting to see some disruption to power supplies.

Around 2,000 customers have experienced a power cut so far. Our teams were prepared for this and responded quickly.

Our teams have already managed to reconnect over 1,100 customers. We will continue to work throughout the weekend to get the power back on as quickly as possible.

The strong winds forecasted in the Met Office’s weather warnings have started to impact North Yorkshire and the North East, and we’re starting to see some disruption to power supplies with approximately 2000 customers affected so far.
We have made good progress, successfully reconnecting 57% of our customers. Our teams are fully mobilised and prepared to respond to any significant issues on our electricity network, ensuring affected customers’ power is back on as soon as it safe, and as quickly as possible.

We can contact you at any time of day, by text message if we have your mobile phone number, or by calling you if we only have your landline number. The forecast suggests the weather may continue to cause disruption into Sunday 22 December. Our teams will continue to work throughout the weekend for our customers and keep them updated.

If you spot any fallen trees on our power lines/poles or damaged cables due to the strong winds, stay well clear and call 105 immediately.
