Over 27,000 customers across the North East, Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire experienced power outages as a result of the wintery weather throughout Sunday. Our teams worked tirelessly and have successfully restored the power to all customers who were impacted, predominantly in the Yorkshire regions.
Further icy showers and wintery conditions have continued to hit the region and affect power supplies, with a further 15,368 customers experiencing power cuts from Sunday evening into Monday. Teams across Northern Powergrid are continuing to work in challenging conditions, with Northumberland & County Durham, Tyne and Wear now being the worst affected areas.
Our teams were ready to respond and have not stopped in an effort to keep the power on for our customers, having returned the power to 14,140 customers throughout today.
Teams across Northern Powergrid have supported the effort, and will continue to work until all remaining 1,228 customers are back on. Our contact centre teams are available 24/7, and are reaching out to customers affected, and signposting to warm hubs which are open until 10pm this evening. If you need any additional support please call on 105 and we will do what we can to help. Keep checking our live power cut map at northernpowergrid.com for updates.
