Hospices across the region have been powering their fundraising this festive season thanks to a helping hand from Northern Powergrid.
The electricity network operator has donated 40 hampers to hospices across the North East, Yorkshire and northern Lincolnshire to help boost their festive fundraising efforts.
Siobhan Barton, Northern Powergrid’s Head of Sustainability and Regional Engagement, said: “Hospices play a vital role, supporting patients and their families at the most difficult of times.
“We delivered the hampers earlier this month so they could be used as part of hospice festive fundraising raffles. We know from previous years that they can help raise much needs funds – with one hamper previously helping generate nearly £1,000 for a hospice.”
Siobhan continued: “We want to support the communities we serve and be a force for good beyond our network, which powers people’s everyday lives.
“Being there for people when they need you most is something we understand, so we hope this year’s donations will help raise extra funds to support the vital work hospices provide for thousands of people across the region every day.”
