A highly sought after Foundation degree apprenticeship programme is once again open for people across the North East, Yorkshire and northern Lincolnshire.

Northern Powergrid are looking for their next cohort of Power Engineer apprentices to join their foundation degree apprenticeship programme, developing the engineers of the future.
The region’s largest electricity distribution network operator is looking to the future, embracing new technology and sustainable resources, developing environmental projects and reducing their carbon footprint

Northern Powergrid is offering a tailored fully funded programme to become a fully qualified Electrical Power Network Engineer, including a two-year Foundation Degree in Electrical Power Engineering.

To qualify you will have GCSEs (Grade 5 or above) or equivalent (Grade C or above) in Mathematics and English Language, and one of the following:
- Two A-Levels or 2 AS/A2: Grades A*- C (one must be in either Mathematics, Physics or Engineering)
- BTEC National Certificate Level 3 in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Merit or above)+
- Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Merit or above)+
- ONC in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Merit or above)+
+It is essential the Mathematics modules are at Merit or Distinction.
The closing date for applications is 2 March 2025, with an expected start date of 15 September 2025.
